Never before accessible to the public, HAF is taking limited groups of the people into the third floor of the building to see the Dutch gabled roof up close and personal as it begins its journey back to it's original location in the building. Each week, attendees can see a different phase of the move and part of the roof from both the underside and topside. These tours are happening for a short time and cannot be repeated.
On Thursday, April 3rd, attendees will get to see how each piece of the roof will be labeled so it can be disassembled and reassembled in the right order. See the notches where the collar ties once were and the chatter marks from the old saws.
3 time slots-5:30-5:50, 5:50-6:10, and 6:10-6:30
*Please note that all tours are after construction activities have been completed for the day for safety purposes.
Sign up to visit each week or just once. We'll see you there!
These tours are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
