Join us for a #ToolLibraryAlbany Volunteer Day - friends, family, and kids all welcome!
We will be hosted this month by the West Hill Refugee Welcome Center and we will be:- Gardening/weeding
- Securing trellis
- Fixing/ enlarging current garden beds
- Making new raised garden beds for food planting in a vacant lot.
We have jobs suitable for all skill levels, though of course if you're an experienced woodworker/gardener please let us know! We will be working from 10 am-2 pm and we invite people to stay for as long as they like. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
This is part of Historic Albany Foundation's #ToolLibraryAlbany program, where we have over 500 tools for members to borrow. Membership is $20 for the year and the library is staffed completely by volunteers. The aim of the Tool Library is to make home maintenance and preservation accessible, build a community, empower through teaching DIY skills, and be more sustainable.
