Meet Your Presenters
Sam Wells is the city's neighborhood stabilization coordinator, leading the effort to make many of the city's vacant buildings habitable, preventing new ones from joining the list, and assisting the City on related housing issues. Sam is also a board member of the Albany County Land Bank and is the City Lead for the Love Your Block Initiative, which taught residents in 2022 how to repair their window screens. When Sam is not working for the City of Albany, you will likely find him playing ice hockey on a pond or in a rink, working on his old house in North Albany, or spending time with his wife Cassandra, and two cats, Roland & TJ
Erin Johanns is the City of Albany's Love Your Block Fellow where she coordinates minor home repair projects alongside community-based projects that benefit residents. She is passionate about food justice, environmental stewardship, and grassroots activism. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, volunteering, reading, and spending time with her cat, Buddy
