The Center Square Association and the Hudson/Park Neighborhood Association were founded in 1957 and 1974, respectively. They are not-for-profit neighborhood associations located in historic downtown Albany, New York.
The purpose of the associations is to promote the quality of residential living in the city and to preserve the historic 19th century housing stock. Committees are actively involved in issues that directly affect the quality of life of the residents. Accordingly, we have supported the enactment and enforcement of zoning, historic preservation and other local laws promoting the preservation and integrity of our neighborhoods.
Our members support and are actively involved in projects that improve our neighborhoods, such as: Block of the Year, ServAlbanyDay, Spring Clean-Up, Night Out Against Crime, Albany Hands, Equinox, Lark Street Business Improvement District and Historic Albany Foundation.
Historic Albany Foundation is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1974 to promote the appreciation and preservation of architecture in the Albany area. The Foundation's programs include technical assistance, advocacy, education and operation of the Architectural Parts Warehouse. The Parts Warehouse recycles used historic architectural elements that range from mantels, columns and doors to brass hardware. Historic Albany Foundation's programs are made possible through individual memberships, corporate contributions and funds from the New York State Council for the Arts. Please visit the Parts Warehouse at 89 Lexington Avenue (one block north of Central Avenue) or call the Foundation at 518-465-0876.
