Have you ever peered through a neighbor’s fence into a cool, green oasis -- and wanted to take a closer look? Now’s your chance. Each year, residents of the Hudson/Park and Center Square neighborhoods open their garden gates and invite you to explore their plantings during the Hidden City Gardens Tour.

In the past, the tour has showcased shady, sunny, vegetable, cottage, formal and family gardens. What inspiration lies inside the gates this year?

In addition to the wide variety of perennial plantings and colorful displays of annuals, some of the more unusual features found in the gardens include waterfalls and fish ponds, fruit and vegetable patches, and play areas.

These urban retreats boast creative and unique uses of limited space as well as innovative solutions to gardening challenges. Some gardens are designed to showcase the efforts of diligent green thumbs, while others aim to provide a bright and cheerful gathering spot for family fun. All of the gardens are within walking distance of one another and make for an enjoyable evening stroll.

In previous years, the Hidden City Home & Garden Tour has attracted over 900 visitors from throughout the greater Capital region. We'll look forward to seeing you at the 15th annual Hidden City Home & Garden Tour!
